These instructions are for adding the KBW code onto a Wordpress.com blog.
Log into your WordPress.com blog.
On the top menu click on “Presentation” (arrow 1 below)

In the Presentation menu click on “Sidebar widgets” (arrow 1 below)

You should now be on a page called Sidebar Arrangements. This page has a section called “Sidebar” on the left hand side. This section is usually empty however depending on which theme you have decided to use and if you have made any customizations to that theme you may find some items already in the “Sidebar” section. The default however is empty which looks like this.

Towards the bottom of the same page is a section called “Available Widgets” which has a number of boxes within it. The box we are interested in is called Text 1. Click on this box and drag it to the Sidebar section mentioned above. Your Text 1 box should now be in the Sidebar section and it should look like this:

You now have to edit the Text 1 box so click on the edit link on the right hand side of the Text 1 box (arrow 1 in the image above.)
This will launch a pop box called Text 1. This has a header section (arrow 1 in the image below) and a body section (arrow 2 in the image below).

In the Header Section put “Kenyan Blogs Webring”
In the body section we will put your KBW ringcode which contains your unique KBW site ID number. You will find your unique site ID number in the email you received after you signed up to the webring (arrow 1 in the image below). Make a note of this unique number as you will need to add it to the code below.

Copy the following code and add it to the body section of the Text box.
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.kenyaunlimited.com/feed.php">KBW Aggregator</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.kenyaunlimited.com/">Home - KenyaUnlimited</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;id=your_number_here;action=prev">Previous Blog</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;action=list">Members List</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;action=rand">Random Blog</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;id=your_number_here;action=next">Next Blog</a></li>
</ul>
Now you will need to edit the ringcode to add your unique site ID number as follows. In the TWO places in the code where it says “your_number_here” you need to replace those words with your actual unique KBW Site ID number which you noted down in step above. For example if your KBW Site ID number is 1148 your code should look like this:
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.kenyaunlimited.com/feed.php">KBW Aggregator</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.kenyaunlimited.com/">Home - KenyaUnlimited</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;id=1148;action=prev">Previous Blog</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;action=list">Members List</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;action=rand">Random Blog</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=kenyanblogs;id=1148;action=next">Next Blog</a></li>
</ul>
Please note you have to change the code in two places.
Once you have edited the ringcode your Text 1 box should be full. Click on the “x” in the top right hand corner to close the Text 1 box (arrow 1 in the image below)

You can now drag any of the other available widgets to Sidebar section to have them show up on your Sidebar. For example we have chosen: pages, recent comments, recent posts, search, archives, calendar and links.

Now click on “Save Changes” on the right hand side.
Congratulations! You have now added your ringcode to your blog and modified your sidebar to have it look as you want. View your blog and you should have a “Kenyan Blogs Webring” section in your sidebar like this:

Send us an email letting us know you have uploaded the ringcode. We will then check it and add you to the webring it if is uploaded correctly.
