Getting Started

Becoming a blogger is not as complicated or as hard as one may initially think. There is usually little or no need forn specialist computer knowledge. There are a number of sites that offer both space to host and software to run a blog. The most common of these are Blogger, Live Journal and Xanga. All of these make starting a blog as easy as creating a hotmail account.

Another alternative, especially for those who have their own website is to use software such as Movable Type, bBlog, WordPress and b2evolution. While the use of these packages requires greater knowledge of computers they all provide either manuals, how-to-guides or support forums aimed at all levels.

Deciding how to start a blog is a personal choice and it usually is a good idea to research and try out as many of the available tools that exist.
