The Woman Who Waited: Writing Novellas – Storymoja Writers’ Blog

As you can see, this story needs a little more time to narrate, yet for certain reasons the author chose to make it worth just a few snapshots, rather than a full novel. I personally enjoyed reading it, but perhaps because I found that Vera and I had a lot in common, not less than that she upended every conceivable stereotype presented against her. -

Announcing the ongoing Golden Baobab Prize

The Golden Baobab Prize will award $1,000 to the best story in each category (junior or senior) and $800 to the most promising young writer (18 years and below). Beyond that, the Golden Baobab Prize offers to connect outstanding stories with African and international publishers. You may submit a total of 5 stories. Deadline for submission is June 20, 2011. -
