  Am lonely,
  
  I need to find me a poem,
  
  A poem never before written,
  
  A poem to be truly mine
  
  
  
  A beautiful poem,
  
  A deep poem,
  
  A sweet poem,
  
  A poem, a poem I couldn’t forget even if I tried to!
  
  
  
  A simple poem,
  
  A poem that rhymes,
  
  Simple rhymes with every line,
  
  A poem easy on the mind,
  
  As well as the tongue,
  
  
  
  A different poem,
  
  To open my mind to new things,
  
  Take me to new places,
  
  Teach me new things show me new things
  
  And inspire awe in me
  
  
  
  A poem with character,
  
  A good name,
  
  One of considerable length and weight,
  
  A poem with body,
  
  The kind I can show off to my friends.
  
  
  
  One I can read all my life,
  
  One only I can understand,
  
  One I can make love to,
  
  Deep, slow, passionate poetic love
  
  And the two of us will make many small similes and metaphors
  
  And cute little stanzas
  
  
  
  I need a poem I can age with,
  
  One that will comfort me in my senility,
  
  And when am no more,
  
  That poem will live on,
  
  Forever singing of our love,
  
  I need that poem.
