    HAIL WOMEN!
    And yes, I meant to shout that,
    Hail the daughters of the earth,
    The mothers of men,
    The givers of life,
    The nurturers of life.

    Hail the gentle souls of the earth,
    Hail Venus and Aphrodite,
    Both women,
    Both goddesses of love and beauty,

    Hail the long locks of hair,
    Hail the wind that licks them with flair,
    Hail those lovely eyes that watch over kids
    With love and care,

    Hail the luscious lips,
    That lashes at thee when you sin,
    And lull us to sleep,

    Praise the long neck that begs to be rubbed,
    Applaud those sturdy shoulders
    That carry husbands and toddlers,

    Hail her full chest,
    And the big heart it holds,
    A heart that beats for others,
    One broken more than others,
    But stronger than our fathers’,

    Hail her curveous waist,
    Marvel at the apartment you lived in
    For nine months,
    Pay homage to the swagger of her hips,
    Praise the tortured legs,
    That work and toil all day
    In heels and boots
    Filling the stomach of her young boy,

    Come bearing gifts,
    Bow your head in the presence of these walking poems,
    Hail women!

    Acclaim the hands that stretch to embrace,
    Babies in their innocent state,
    An us all in our times of disgrace,

    Hail the missing rib that made Adam incomplete,
    Hail the breasts you suckled when 20days old,
    And hail the ugali she made you…you 20 year old!

    Glorify that woman selling mboga,
    Respect that campus lady who has been beating you so far,
    Laud the business woman,
    And applaud the lady juggling her career and two babies,

    Hail Wangari Maathai,
    Hail Rosa Parks,
    Njoki Ndungu,
    Mother Teresa,
    Mekatilili,
    Wangu wa Makeri
    Hail their gallant souls,

    Hail all of you,
    Coz men might never admit it…
    But you guyz ROCK
