What?

A couple of Saturdays back, I took a stroll in town and found my way to Jamia Mall. And isn’t that place just something else. I did not know it harbored so many shops. Suffice to say, I was kinda surprised. Pleasantly so, because the place offers a myriad of shops selling clothes, shoes, phones et al and at affordable prices [compared to malls such as westgate and sarit]. Speaking of sarit, I went to look for house slippers and did you know they go for Kshs 3,500 at Woolworths? I had a nice laugh and walked on along my merry way. Anyway, back to Jamia Mall, I was not so surprised that when I entered a shop where the attendant was Kenyan, we were not greeted, not welcomed… NOTHING. However, we entered some shops where the attendants were not Kenyan [Brazilian, Nigerian, Somali] and the service was impeccable. I REFUSE to shop in a store where I am not welcomed. And maybe I am being picky but a little courtesy never hurt anyone!!!!! Pull up your socks people!
So I had a craving for cantaloupes… or as they are called in Kenya – Sweet melons, so I went to the local green grocer[how old school is that?], and do you know how expensive that stuff is? I couldn’t believe it. I still bought it but I can say that it will not be happening often! -
Impunity

I watched the KTN news on July 3rd and I saw people on the street protesting against the sale of Grand Regency. One was even holding a sign that said “We shall not support impunity”. What the? Dude probably doesn’t even know what it means. And I am not being mean………
Now, I am not supporting corruption or anything but are these people serious? How does Grand Regency help them add money into their pockets to feed their families? Where were they when the MPs said they would not support the taxes on their allowances? Where were they when the government refused to decrease taxes on fuel? Huh? Issues that actually would HELP individuals always pass them by. I think its just sad that Kenyan continue to agree to be used by politicians. Start thinking for yourselves Kenyans!!!!!!
No one is looking out for you, not your councilor, chief, MP, Prime Minister, VP or even President!!
Blah blah blah
Fish cakes
Alas a fish cake.
Yet more fish cakes

The end of the fish cakes
