  • Drivers Wanted: Maturity Needed

I have always deemed myself an observer and as a result, I am compelled to write the following post:

Overzealous and Careless Drivers on the Road:

I don’t know if I am the only one who has noticed but the people behind certain cars are the ones with the tendency to over speed, overlap, unnecessary overtaking and other haphazard driving on the road. Do correct me if I am wrong:

    1. Matatu Drivers – I put them first because it’s rather obvious. No need to go into details here.

    2. Taxi Drivers – They are the new age matatu drivers. Someone needs to stop them. Anyway, they are too many on the road as it is. See matatus above.

    3. Mfano was School Bus – There are certain old matatus that have been reverted to be carrying kids in the morning. Honestly, I am appalled at these drivers. First, the kids are all standing in the bus, unaware of the dangers and then, the fool is overlapping and just driving as though he has forgotten he is no longer driving a “school bus” but a matatu

    4. Extremely Old Cars – Its as though the drivers of this cars are aware that once they hit someone, especially someone with a newer car, their car will not even get a scratch and therefore with this don’t care attitude, they drive recklessly

    5. Drivers of Luxury Cars who still live in apartments – If you pay rent and drive a Benz, if you live with mummy and daddy and drive a Volvo, I'm talking to you son! Honestly, its as though these people want everyone to know that they are driving a luxury car…. To see them on the road, you would think they helped to build it. [There was a time while in Sarit I was telling a buddy of mine that before selling a Benz, whether old or new, it should be mandatory to go for a maturity test. They should just not be sold to any Tom, Dick and Harry Kimani]. Coz surely, when someone in a Toyota drives like an imbecile, you kinda expect it. If you are in a Benz, we kinda expect you to be gentle on the road and on your expensive car.

Blah blah blah
