1. Dont u think ur a lil bit too harsh on the Kenyan ladies(fashion wise) as far as everything is concerned...not everyone has the pleasure of shoping at hermes and eating Kosher meat?
No I am not. I don’t think that wearing clothes that fit has anything to do with shopping at Hermes and eating kosher meat. It has to do with knowing what your size is and buying things that FIT. Knowing your body shape/figure and being aware of what flatters you. Just because you see something on TV does not mean it will look good on you. I'd rather be hated for telling someone what looks bad on them and what doesnt than being loved for being a hypocrite. "Oh girl, that looks good on you" kumbe that time she looks wack. Thats not my style.
2. Are you enjoying youself in Kenya or u prefer living in GA?...and why if u dont mind?
I preferred living in Maryland than Georgia. [GO BMORE] And I prefer living in Kenya than Maryland. So yeah, I prefer living in Kenya than Georgia. Why? Because it home. -

I see tag season is in.
Kama kawaida, I will not do it the way it is supposed to be done….. I’ll just do it.
Six things
I can listen to one song on repeat for 45 minutes… even an hour. Of course it has to be a deadly song like “On the wings of love” or “I will get there”
I have to play at least two games of solitaire per week day. Be it at work or at home.I can stay in the digs a whole weekend. My room to be exact. Just chuck to use the bathroom, get food and go to church.
I have loud monologues in the car almost ever morning. I strongly believe that it is necessary to talk to yourself….. However, the loudness with which I do it can be considered crazy… maybe??
I know who I was meant to be with. The stars are just not aligned properly…. YET!
It will take a miracle to get me to cut my hair. I spent 18 years of my life with boy short hair…. Im enjoying it…..
Ok, Im done with Kipepeo’s tag.
Now for Archer’s tag…..
Readers of the blog “Life and its General Nonsense”….. Now is the time to ask me any question and I do mean ANY question………

Commonly used phrases/words/statements by Kenyan Men in Kenya
I am so far from being able to write a “Guide to Dating Kenyan Men in Kenya” but I’m getting there so don’t think for a second that I have forgotten. However, I think I am quite capable of writing about this because I have heard things that just amuse me.
• You know there are many women who would sleep with me, but I chose you – Use this one when you are dealing with a slightly difficult woman. Apparently its supposed to make her feel special
• I can do without sex – Use this to make it sound like you have had enough sex and now you are looking for a serious relationship.
• I drive a _____________________[Try something along the side of a Benz]
• I work at ____________________ [This as well as the one above should be mentioned within minutes of meeting said lady. It works even better if you have a business card to quickly flash out]
SIDEBAR
I had a collection of business cards, I tell you…… it was very entertaining….Got rid of them though.
• Women in Nairobi are like _______ [insert negative word here], but there is something about you that just makes you__________ [Insert positive word[s] here] –Again, it’s supposedly the allure that you are looking for something permanent….. Don’t look at me... I don’t get it either
Normal Conversation
• My Guy, You Guy [or whatever variation with the word Guy] – This is while talking to your male friends. Sometimes you accidentally call a woman my guy. Use when trying to put what you think is an important point across
• Chief, Boss – See above. Also as a greeting i.e. Sema Boss, What’s up Chief?
Necessities
• Please be a member of at least one Chama also known as Investment Club
• Boys are key. It doesn’t matter whether the last time you talked to them was two years ago, those are YOUR BOYS and you mention them all the time, without actually stating their names. They are YOUR BOYS. i.e My boy just had a baby. My boy just did this or the other. My boys are eating nyama at XYZ -
Learning

I believe that learning something new everyday is a gift.
Granted, sometimes what you learn cannot in any way,shape or form add value to your life but still, its something you did not know and who knows, it may be a future question in "Jeopardy". Take an example, today I decided to Wiki Larenz Tate and I found out his wife's name is Tomasina Parrott. WTH? -

Being in Nairobi Makes my Day!

This damn near killed me.
No, you are not dyslexic.... that really does say UMBRELLERA!
Some people need lessons on how to wear knee high boots and especially what heel of a knee high boot to wear with a dress. Now that I have said that, the mama in the dress... needs help. If you are her friend, please help her.
I know that dude in the back was going... "Oh No she didn't"
Thankyouhaveaniceday.
It was really interesting [Read:Amusing] being in town and watching women walking around with rose(s) feeling special. I mean.... GOOD FOR YOU!... If that flower increases your self esteem one notch, buy one for yourself every day.
Its like, if you did not get a rose from your mano, you were not loved or something..... Granted I am certifiably, registered, embossed and happily single so maybe for me its another story but come on now..... even Capital, Bic and many other companies were giving out FREE roses the whole day on the street. Just grab yourself one and have a timam day..... POSITIVE VIBES Yo!
That being said, did you catch Ciku busting someone this morning???
Love............ What does it have to do with anything I wonder???? -
Every day People

This post, is dedicated to one person. He that made me read 'The Prophet" and from there I extracted this. Love you babes.......
On Love
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment
of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

WARNING!!!
Posted: February 12, 2008, 4:18 pm by Movie Buff
Please never wear red and black on the week of valentines.... everyone thinks you are feeling the "love" and whatnot.
This is what I get for just picking clothes out of the wardrobe without thinking. Surely.... if someone else tells me I should have saved this outfit for Thursday I will have a fit!!!! -

The Journey
One day you finally knewwhat you had to do, and began,though the voices around youkept shoutingtheir bad advice --though the whole housebegan to trembleand you felt the old tugat your ankles."Mend my life!"each voice cried.But you didn't stop.You knew what you had to do,though the wind priedwith its stiff fingersat the very foundations,though their melancholy was terrible.It was already lateenough, and a wild night,and the road full of fallenbranches and stones.But little by little,as you left their voices behind,.the stars began to burnthrough the sheets of clouds,and there was a new voicewhich you slowlyrecognized as your own,that kept you companyas you strode deeper and deeperinto the world,determined to dothe only thing you could do --determined to savethe only life you could save.
~ Mary Oliver ~ I read some things sometimes and I just have to share because I always hope that it will move you as it moved me. May it move you.
