So social media has become the new in thing. It's the main way that has replaced socializing and "meeting" people. While I had clearly embraced the idea of hopping from one media to the next new thing, I think I have come to a halt as to being a member of social interfaces. I have decided facebook is just another way of people making you feel like you have a personal relationship with them. It is the way that has greatly allowed people you consider remotely known to you, to know all your recent whereabouts. As a person who likes writing, the latest media group that I had recently joined was not really living to my expectations. As much as I tried to limit the number of "friends" that I had I still felt like there was an enomous amount of invasion. For instance whenever I go to a party all the pictures are tagged in every corner of the media site and the next time 10 to 20 people can accurately say they think you've been having too much fun.
Unfortunately for me I am more of a people person. I like personal touch and I like seeing people one to one. It doesn't help that I relocated from the main city to a city in the north. Unfortunately, many people don't feel the need to call since they "see" me all the time. I think I have tried it and really all it does is make me less of the person I am. I will proudly hold my head high and return to "normal" life. I will do my meet up groups where I actually meet with real human beings. That is my joy. Speaking of which I am big dallas cowboy fan so I will have to drive about an hour to meet up with others who want enjoy the game. I have realized hours and hours, bookmarking, and creating "apps" on my gadgets to stay "connected" to the world are not going to fulfill my desire to interact. I am a social being but not an internet social being. I hope I will have a better year and my new ways to meet people in more real life and conventional ways will prove to be productive and create some "soul" healing. Of course I like blogging and talking about things but my life can not be run on the internet unfortunately. It works for some people but for me its has been a difficult balance to keep up with.
Finally, this is not meant to bash social media sites but I just wanted to give a personal account of what has happened to me and the impact it has had to my life. Here's to hoping I will stay alive :) and I will not have to explain why I am not a member of the popular sites....

Blah blah blah
