• Kenyan minister takes brave step in fighting for gay rights.

  Religious folk have a way of pretending like nothing is wrong just so they can continue the freak show of pampering a non-existent being with blessings. They are rather gifted at dodging reality by clouding rational arguments with humorous anecdotes.

  Yesterday we had a Kenyan Minister make a very sensible argument towards protecting rights of homosexuals and sex workers. It is a common knowledge that homosexuals and sex workers are some of the most vulnerable to HIV/AIDs.Not because they are the most promiscuous but unlike other groups of people in the society, no measures are taken to recognize them and help promote their well-being.  Some religious and political leaders insist that these people have no place in the society. This they do mostly for political gains even though behind the scenes they are sometimes caught in compromising positions. Several surveys have revealed that in Kenya for example most high-end gay call-boys have clientèle in very big leadership positions. Some of whom condemn homosexuality with a lot of angst.Its not news however to hear of such hypocrisy. Take the case for example of the infamous U.S pastor Ted Haggard who was discovered to be having gay sex with sex workers in various hotel rooms. Yet in front of his congregation he condemned it.

  Minister Esther Murugi told participants at a national symposium on HIV/Aids in Mombasa targeting homosexuals, lesbians and sex workers that the government had no option but to address the community’s concerns.

  She told the National Aids Control Council to compile statistics to enable the government to develop a policy to cut prevalence rates among the group.

  Religious leaders are already furious asking her to resign or get sacked. Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa who is the organising secretary for the Council of Imams EA claims that the minister’s utterances were satanic and against the teachings of the Quran. Am sorry.So according to your god its wrong for a man to fulfill his desires with another man yet its okay to kill someone when they leave Islam. Whats worse here, two consenting adults doing something to each other that makes them happy, or your most respected prophet(whose face cannot be drawn) having sex with a 13yr old girl. Muslims have no right to condemn others not without displaying the highest form of hypocrisy.

  And am not leaving Christians out either. Christians worship the same god who according to the bible allows for rape and murder:

  Isaiah 13:15-18 :Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword.  Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes.  Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes.  For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off.  The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows.  They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children

  No man has the right to judge another. Homosexuality is not a thing humans do because they are evil. It is a natural phenomena possibly genetic, that can be witnessed in the wild every time. Bonobos do it, monkeys do it, whales do it, so why should we take it upon ourselves and say that humans who do it do not belong with the rest of the society?
