What is your blog to you?

When we all started blogging we all had different dreams or visions for our blogs ( for those of us who did). When I first started blogging it was because I was doing thise web design job where I had hardly any work to do and unfettered internet access.I noticed that I needed a way to keep myself busy.I started my blog as a way to say things that I had always wanted to say but didnt have the channels to express myself through.Later on my blog also turned into some sort of diary where I would rant about work, the villains of my life at that time (my bosses) and just life in general. At this time I was not a KBW member and comments were few and far between. But I didn’t care because I was blogging for myself.I was just looking at the archives and I came by some very interesting and controversial stuff I had posted.
When I joined KBW and it began to grow I did get more and more comments.Mshairi take a bow for being the first!I also made more and more friends in the KBW family. When I was in Kenya blogging was just a way of burning time in the office but when I got to the States I took it more seriously as it was a way to interact with other Kenyans around the world and learn a whole lot of stuff! Also I did notice that the more comments I got that the more the nature of my posting changed.I would actually think before posting anything since I now knew I had readers but with time that mind set has changed and I have noticed myself slipping back into my gung ho posting style.I have actually noticed that with time the KBW member who commented on my blog and whose blogs I read turned from non descript screen names to people who I could put characteristics, feelings, places and in some cases faces to.With time they have become more of a family that I am part of.
So at the end of this all I still can’t say the one thing my blog is to me but I can say the many things that it is……..
